A dental marketing agency vs ChairsideWeb
A dental marketing agency vs ChairsideWeb: a bundle of services, or one job done properly
Which is right for a dental group?
A traditional dental marketing agency typically bundles several services, such as paid ads, SEO, social media and a website, into a retainer. That can suit a group that wants one partner for all its marketing. ChairsideWeb does one thing: it designs, builds, hosts and runs the website, with the AI Engine and Content Engine as stated add-ons on the larger plans, all for a published monthly fee per group. If you need someone to run your ad budget, an agency is the right hire. If you need a website that works for every office and stays accurate, a focused service is simpler and more transparent.
The real question
Transparency is the difference, not effort
Agencies work hard, and the good ones earn their fees. Where groups get frustrated is not knowing exactly what the retainer buys or what happens to the website if the relationship ends. ChairsideWeb publishes its prices, states what is and is not included, charges the build fee only after launch, runs month to month, and keeps your domain in your name.
Side by side

Twelve things a dental group should weigh. Their column describes the option in general terms from public information; ours states our published terms.
| What to weigh | A dental marketing agency | ChairsideWeb |
|---|---|---|
| Speed and Core Web Vitals | Depends on the agency's platform and build standard. | 90+ PageSpeed guaranteed on mobile and desktop. Static pages served from Cloudflare's edge with almost no JavaScript. |
| SEO control, office by office | Often a core agency service, sometimes the main one. | A page per office, provider and service, each with its own title, headings and internal links, set by us. |
| Schema and JSON-LD | Varies by agency. | Organization, a dental business entry per office, Service, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList, generated from the same data as the page. |
| AEO and GEO readiness | Varies by agency; increasingly offered. | Answer-first copy, visible FAQs, consistent office facts and an llms.txt file on every site. |
| Hosting and security | Often on the agency's hosting or platform. | Cloudflare hosting with SSL, CDN, DDoS protection, backups and monitoring inside the fee. |
| Maintenance burden on your team | Handled by the agency within the retainer scope. | None. Weekly detail updates and 5 revisions a month are applied by us. Nobody logs in. |
| Who does the work | The agency team. | Our team designs, writes, builds, hosts and runs it. You approve. |
| Content and blog | Often included in some form; scope varies. | 2 researched articles a week (3 on Group), 2,500 to 3,200 words each, with cited sources. |
| Design quality | Often template-based across the agency's clients; varies. | A custom design system on your brand, designed phone-first and hand-coded. |
| Accessibility and compliance pages | Varies by agency. | Privacy policy, terms, cookie consent that gates scripts, an accessibility statement and forms that do not collect health information. |
| Cost model | Usually a monthly retainer, often with setup fees and minimum terms. Varies widely. | Published: from $137 a month per group, $797 build fee after launch, $20 per extra revision. No per-office fees. |
| Lock-in and ownership | Check the contract: sites and domains are sometimes held by the agency. | Month to month. Your domain and your content are yours, with a content export within 14 days of cancelling. The design and code stay ours. |

Switching or combining
Working alongside your agency
Many groups keep an agency for ads and use ChairsideWeb for the site. We give each office and service a fast, relevant landing page, and the agency points campaigns at them.
If you are leaving an agency, first confirm who holds the domain. We then map and rebuild the site and redirect the old addresses.

Questions
A dental marketing agency vs ChairsideWeb: questions
Do we still need an agency if we use ChairsideWeb?
Only if you want someone to run paid ads or other marketing channels. We build and run the website; ad management is not included.
Is ChairsideWeb a dental marketing agency?
No. We are a website design and management company. We are not a dental practice either, and we never give dental advice.
Can our agency run ads to our ChairsideWeb pages?
Yes. Every office and service has its own fast page, which makes a relevant landing page for local campaigns.
What if our agency holds our domain?
Ask them to transfer it to your group. If that is not possible straight away, we can point a new domain and redirect later.
How does the cost compare?
Agency retainers vary widely. ChairsideWeb is published: from $137 a month per group plus a $797 build fee after launch.
Do you do SEO like an agency does?
We build SEO into the site: per-office pages, structured data, answer-first copy and 2 researched articles a week. We do not buy links or run separate SEO campaigns.
Is there a minimum term?
No. Plans run month to month.
Can the Content Engine replace an agency's social media service?
On Group it covers 3 social posts and 2 reels a week plus managed Google Business Profiles. It does not include paid social advertising.
